Anyones child broken front teeth?

My DS knocked a front tooth out at age 3. The gap closed & second teeth grew crooked. We have a lovely dentist, and DS is aware will need braces (like DD wears now). Today he fell in the playground & broke both front teeth - says he feels like dracula! Dentist will rebuild them on Monday. Anyone been through this?

One of DD's friends (7yo) has just had one of her front teeth rebuilt having knocked aa big chunk of it off a while ago. It looks fantastic.

She went to a very child-friendly dentist who had one appt to talk to her about what would happen and then on the second did the treatment.

Knocked a few of my front teeth out when riding, its always worse for the mothers! Dentist will prepare whats left by filing into point, then cement cap on. May need to replace cap if other teeth grow. Good news is no brace will required. Mine have been in 25 years, no prob.

Actually, the only thing I noticed is that caps does not reflect some violet light so need to keep gob shut at discos!!

Thanks for that. I did feel awful but our dentist is wonderful. He will probably need crowns when older but no point until they are straight anyway. DD is accident free but DS has broken leg, teeth (twice) and picks up any bug going - is it boys?

Yes. I rode my bike down a big hill with no brakes (test to get into a gang) when I was 8 and broke one of my front teeth off. I had a cement cap fitted on the end until I was 16, which was a bit thick but didn't really bother me. I then had a veneer, which did chip a bit at the bottom, so finally got a crown done about 5 years ago. It looks completely real.

I don't ever remeber it being a problem when I was younger, and definately don't remember the actual visits to the dentist, so it can't have been that bad. My Mum however still talks about the day I came back all bloody-faced, and how much it traumatised her.
