HELP - not sure what to do - first AF since late miscarriage and in pain

Miscarried at 18 and half weeks 33 days ago.

First AF appeared yesterday. Used my Mooncup no problems. Today it has gradually got more and more painful. At 2.30 when I changed it, it was so painful to get out I left it out. Now getting pains as I sit on a chair and also while I was walking home.Hurts when I sit on the toilet and also when blood comes out (sorry tmi).

Not sure if this is my uterus, vagina or bladder - feels like it could be all of them.

DH is away so no one to consult at home except two young children. Have tried to phone a midwife and had to leave a message on their answerphone.

I don't want to waste GPs time if this is normal and also not sure if I would get seen now so late in the day.

But it is agony, then goes away then comes back

You're not wasting GP's time - that's their job. Go and try to get seen, if only to put your mind at rest.

If painkillers don't do the trick, I think you should go down to A&E and get yourself checked out. It is still early days after your m/c - you aren't wasting anyone's time if you're gut feeling tells you this isn't normal, and you are in agony

I have taken some paracetamol now so wait to see if that works.

But at it's worse it is making me gasp. Then it goes away for a while...

Think I will wait and see. Have DD's friend around and need to get on and cook tea. Just want to curl up in bed with hot water bottle.

how are you doing cece?

cece · 16/01/2008 19:10

Was Ok for an hour or so and now just had another painful episode. Seems to be when I need the loo so maybe a bladder infection? It feels like the whole of my insides are going to fall out

Just got back after leaving house at 9.50.

What a morning. Went to GP who then sent me to EPU - last place I wanted to go - for a scan to see if I had anything left inside after Hope's birth last month.

Turns out there is something there but difficult to see because of the bleeding ...

Waiting to speak to GP again when she finishes surgery to see if I have to go back once bleeding has stopped for another scan

Hello Cece

sorry I don't know much about this, but very very sorry to hear about the loss of your baby. Sounds like you are getting medical attention which is good, but sending you big hugs anyway.x
