HI there. Was only actually sick once with dc in the house. My mum took them and kept ehm overnight and wont give me them back until it has been 24 hours since I last vomitted. (good mum). I have anti bacterialed the whole bathroom and have opened all the windows. Are my dc and dh going to get it or will I be lucky.

Meant to add that I dont normally give my kids away when I am ill but I was physically incapable of standing up long enough to look after them.

sorry, but I don't know. Lucky you, that your mum can take your child for you. She is right to keep them for 24hours after your last vomit, though.

I think you have done all the right things. DD2 had a sickness bug just before christmas and i was worried we would all get it. I did the same as you - dettoxed everything and opened up all the windows. No one else got it- good luck.

Thanks, yes my mum is a wonder. She must have known how bad I felt cause normally I just battle through illnesses and never ask for help with the kids but this time I was quite literally floored by it. I am living in hope that I Have done the right things and no one else gets it. I hate to think of my dc feeling as bad as I did yesterday.

How long is it likely to be before I know I am in the clear with the rest of the family

We had a sickness bug over christmas. I had it on christmas day and was sitting with the kids while they opened their presies running off every so often to be sick. felt utterly wretched! DH took them both the inlaws for a few hours by which time I'd stopped being sick. Dh had it christmas day night but miraculously neither dc got it at all! Lots of handwashing and using a separate loo helped I think and I didn't 'cook' them anything for 24 hours.

Yeah I havent cooked them anything and dh made school lunches so hopefully the dc will be ok.
