For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Meant to say also, MrsC, I agree really as don;t think DS is old enough to undertsand about time and things yet, so I'm not sure I can expect him to "get" how it makes a difference to me if he comes in at 6 or 7. Neither does he undertsnad why we aren;t as delighted to see him as he is to see us

Anything before 6am does result in him being returned to bed, I have to say, unless he is ill or very upset about something, though, as before 6 I simply cannot cope.

I suppose everyone knows the point at which it becomes a real problem rather than a nice to have extra hour's sleep.

3andnomore · 19/01/2008 11:00

it's a 2000 word essay.
It's the essay that counts...I need to pass this essay in order to pass the course and in order to take the place on the OT course, that I have been offered...so, no pressure, lol...

BBBee · 19/01/2008 11:11

oh god FMF you are so much nicer and less arrogant than me - I waded in with loads of opinons as I know nothing on this subject.

How are you FK? Your situation sounds not nice at all - hard to give any advice but think about you.

Franny - I have something for you I think. You might like it. I am off to find a link.

I am from the 'do nothing or just do what I want school of parenting"

BBBee · 19/01/2008 11:19

franny i tried to find a link but i couldn't so my crap power of description.

I had this jumper/top from autograph I got ages ago. It is navy, really thin and sheer with linen. It is kind of hip length, 3/4 sleeves, scoop next and three buttons. Very nice shape. Only thing is I am big arse small breast. My only mhope is my waist. This jumper is volumionous in the tummy area so made my look preganant - AH HA! I thought. This would look great on you with stretchy trousers or skirt and BFOB.

Will post it if youare remotely interested. It is brand new - I snipped the labels off as I realised how prenant it made me look.

ZippiBabes · 19/01/2008 11:36

looks like i am having a pub lunch and walk in hertfordshire tomorrow...zippi tours britain

BBBee · 19/01/2008 11:46

have taken pic - will upload when you are around.

WHERE THE FUCK IS BOCO?

ZippiBabes · 19/01/2008 11:52

i dont know i expect she is one of those clever cutting down on mn peeps

i want a yupdate on the jet puppy

FrannyandZooey · 19/01/2008 12:54

i want Boco too, and I want more tales of Johnny Jet (it sounds like a fantastically exciting 50s radio serial)

zippi I coukd hardly read all that. I was peeping through my fingers by the end.

MrsC I like you advice and I like everyone's advice and I think you are all right. I think I am slightly more loathe to lose this bit of the day because it does work so extremely well and we do have a very nice relaxed time together. I have not exactly been brilliant patient and encouraging mummy this year and have been trying to focus on this half hour or whatever as a really nice start to the day. I know ds particularly loves it. He said to me a while back "How horrible to wake up and not be able to have a cuddle when you want one." I looked suitably appalled and he said "But that NEVER happens!" You see my dilemma. Plus, he can't tell the time. We would have to get one of those expensive bunny things or something. Oh actually I think he might be able to recognise the numbers 5, 6, 7 on a digital clock. However 6 is a bit early and 7 is a bit late. Hmmm. Not sure.

Hello hello.
Bee i always miss you! I have to go out now - have an exciting afternoon and night of no children so going out with dp. We're wearing nice clothes (well, they're clean and stuff) and are going to sit in cafes and maybe see a film later.

Franny, thanks for the document - it looks very good and will definitely try. Yes please do send me your film, i promise if i don't like it i won't be mean and i'm sure i will like it anyway - what is it?

fullmoonfiend · 19/01/2008 13:31

yes Boco, that's right, you swan out in your nice clothes and idle away the hours people-watching and drinking coffee, and nuzzling dh and watching grow-up films and stuff. Don't you give a moment's thought to us; we'll be just fine sitting here, umpiring the bear-fighting (actually, make that bare-fighting), cleaning up the squashed biscuits and spilt milk and parrying the ''what can we do now'' requests while Dh manfully ignores all sounds of boy activity and snoozes...
Pah!

FrannyandZooey · 19/01/2008 13:34

god who wants to go OUT

I am going to lie here with an Antonia Forest book and a box of chocolates, while ds and dp go to the hell of soft play, at a party of someone who dp doesn't even know BWAH HA HA. He is actually being marvellous (albeit slightly grumpy but I am trying to ignore that as long as he is still doing the helpful things). Hoorah dp.

WHERE IS THE JOHNNY J NEWS?

OP posts:
fullmoonfiend · 19/01/2008 13:36

I want to go out!! I want to go out!!
And I want a puppy called Johnny.
And a DP who is helpful.
And a rabbit in a hat.
And some singing squirrels.
And..
And.

ahundredtimes · 19/01/2008 14:05

Johnny Jet update - it is a sleeping related problem, which I may have solved.

He has this basket, and he does sit in it and fell asleep in it last night. But I don't think he finds it restricted enough, and I don't have a suitable cardboard box to hand. And then so far today he has taken to sleeping between the bin and the sofa in the kitchen. So, I have put his basket there, and then put the clothes dryer over it, and draped that with a swimming towel. He is in there now, I think he's okay. I don't know.

Basically Johnny Jet is sleeping in a tee pee. I think I may be going slightly mad, and am doing that baby thing of wandering about talking to myself, so he knows I am here.

Jeez.

Hopefully, VERY soon, I shall talk about other things. But right now it's all a little overwhelming.

ZippiBabes · 19/01/2008 14:54

johnny jet is making me think of kiss me kate is it kiss me kate with the jets?

or grease? or both?

i am glad u enjoyed my story i left out thje scary unplanned home birth when dd2 was born into my tights while dh tried to make me go and get in the car and she got hypothermia because we had no heating and it was lots of degrees below freezinf outside and i had to have loads of stitches because her huge head came out so fast although i had been trying to suck her back in desperately and the midwife got there just as she was arriving and the midwife was all upset because she had never delivered a baby in a room with bare floorboards and no clean towels and no heating or hot water and when not wearing her uniform

she didn't forgive me for that one

ZippiBabes · 19/01/2008 14:56

we were totally unprepared although she was actually 15 days late and she weighed 9 and a half pounds

ZippiBabes · 19/01/2008 14:56

she is always late actually

ahundredtimes · 19/01/2008 14:58

It is West Side Story - camp ds2's current musical favourite.

You are a rich source of rather frightening stories Zipp, but I did lol at not in her uniform.

He is out the basket, and back on the floor in the teepee, beside the basket. Is he going to catch pneumonia? He is making rather attractive snoring sounds.

TooTicky · 19/01/2008 15:00

My friend is going to have to close her lovely ethical shop. I feel like crying

ahundredtimes · 19/01/2008 15:00

Oh and we rolled a tennis ball along and he chased it! He did! And then he ate it, and then he flumped about, and then he pushed the ball and chased it again.

Johnny Jet is a genius puppy.

But then he was so overwhelmed with the excitement of it all that he ran off to his teepee and fell asleep.

Right. I am going to leave this room now. He is asleep. Surely I can go and do something normal, like the washing.

ahundredtimes · 19/01/2008 15:01

Oh no TooT. Why?

ZippiBabes · 19/01/2008 15:02

yes i have a lot more frightening stories...it is true what they say about you couldnt make it up

my dd1 did comment last yeart that if we were a soap then people wouldnt believe us

ZippiBabes · 19/01/2008 15:03

why is ethical sjop closing?

not that i am surprised because in my retailing experience what people say they want and what they buy are two competely different things

Lack of customers

TooTicky · 19/01/2008 15:12

Lack of people who actually care enough to NOT go to Sainsbury's/Iceland/Somerfield.
