Can l ask about painful knees?😢

I’m 58, not overweight, and my knees are agony. I’ve seen physios and done exercises. But they still hurt. I can’t do my favourite hobby of gardening, because squatting or kneeling makes it worse.

Walking down stairs is awful, and all x rays are normal. What else can I do?

I feel for you.
My DH (53) has had more than a month of excruciating pain in both his knees. He was palmed off with Naproxen and ever increasing strength pain killers all the while having never been seen or examined by a dr.
Dr eventually relented and bloods were taken which returned markers of inflammation. The dr has put him on 5 days of steroids (he's on day 3 and finally without pain) and he is seeing the dr in person for the first time next week.
Dr has to now rule things out so he's starting with rheumatoid arthritis. I just hope he gets an answer soon and some permanent relief from the pain.

Hope it’s ok for him.

I have found I have got a great deal of benefit from high dose turmeric supplements, my knee pain was mild to moderate rather than severe (as yours sounds) but it might be worth looking at.

There have been some small studies that have shown improvement but it would benefit from a bigger study.

As with any supplement it will depend on any other conditions or medications you are on so if you aren't sure speak with your GP but as I say, they helped me.
