Have I got a blood clot in my finger?

Not sure what I did, certainly wasn't lifting anything or straining my hand.
But my finger went all numb and tingly. Then it started swelling and now it looks all bruised.
It's uncomfortable and not bending.
Google is not very helpful, has anyone any idea what this is?

Thanks

Achenbach's Syndrome?

Thesefeetaremadeforwalking · 17/06/2022 19:24

@bloodywhitecat

"Achenbach's Syndrome?"

Possibly but no enough discolouration IMO.

In any event there is no specific treatment and, as I understand should self-resolve within about 4 days.

See the GP if worried. It certainly doesn't look like a 'blood clot'

Trigger finger?

That's inflamed tendons...

I have it at the moment from too much digging in the garden last weekend Sad

HeckinMiffed · 17/06/2022 21:13

Thanks! It has got darker since I took the pictures, its very odd. I didn't bash it or trap it or strain it, it just went all sore.
I have been using a crutch on that hand, maybe thats it?
I called it a blood clot as I wasnt sure what had happened and my finger was swelling with blood! Sorry!!
So should resolve itself? thats good! Grin

Sounds like a spontaneously bursting blood vessel, I get them in my fingers and have had one or two elsewhere as well. They come out of nowhere, just swell up with blood then bruise. I mentioned it to a GP a few years back but they weren't particularly interested

Hi, i know it’s been a while, but would you tell me, did this happend to you again? Was everything alright? Had the same thing happen to me a few days ago. Thanks

RougeFraise · 09/12/2023 18:49

This is achenbach syndrome. It has happened to me several times. Nothing to worry about @Nikolajug

of you search achenbach on mumsnet, there’s a post about it with people sharing their pics.
