What could this black spot on my foot be?

Noticed it a week ago and I thought it was dirt stuck to my foot. Turns out it's not dirt.

To the left there is this veiny looking mark also.

What happens if you rub with a foot file?

GrazingSheep · 16/06/2022 20:44

Verucca?
Mole?

Wolfieandboy · 16/06/2022 20:46

Go and get it checked at GPs. Do not rub with foot file. Not sure anyone can say from a pic but always get new marks checked.

FourTeaFallOut · 16/06/2022 20:47

Is it a teeny tiny stood on 1x1 Lego piece bruise?

Underbella1 · 16/06/2022 20:59

Not stood on any lego recently 😂
I'm at the gp tomorrow anyway reviewing medication so will speak to receptionist about it.

Google suggesting scary things.

To be honest I've been having bother with this foot suddenly deciding it doesn't fit in my shoe anymore. Oh dear lord.

Podiatrist here.
I wouldn’t normally give advice from just a picture but if its new mole (looks like it in your pic) you need to get it looked at professionally ASAP. If you struggle to get GP appointments in your locality then I would try and find a private podiatrist or skin specialist .They will be able to initiate the referral process through your GP if needed. Make sure you see health professionals who are registered with HCPC.

I had myself dead and buried about a mole last year. It was nothing in the end. However it’s always important to get them looked at. Let us know how you get on

Underbella1 · 16/06/2022 22:00

It's definitely new.

I'm sure my gp will want to see me OK.

Will let you know.

Hi All

Forgot to update you on what happened. So nothing much actually. Nurse took a pic to keep in my notes. He said it wasn't what they look for in terms of melanomas and if I was OK with it, just to keep an eye on it and maybe look at it again in 3 months.

If it changes, I've to phone gp for an immediate referral to dermatology.

It still looks the same at the moment 🤔

Hi thank you for updating. I’m pleased you managed to get it looked at. Just a tip, if you take a picture with a ruler next to it every couple of weeks it will be easier to track any changes.

Underbella1 · 26/07/2022 20:58

Good advice thank you!
