Constant burping and acid even on Fomatadine

Hi

I take this tablet twice a day, and although it has reduced the acidic feeling in my stomach to an extent, I am burping constantly - constantly, at least every five minutes. I have had a endoscopy 6 months ago which revealed a hernia but that was it.

I guess what I’m asking is - is this normal for anyone else of should I get it looked at further for anything sinister?

Have you been tested for h.pylori?

I was going to ask the same. Constant burping is a symptom.

You’ll need to stop the medication for a couple of weeks to get tested though, sorry. Although I think you can still take gaviscon,

I am having a similar problem, burping every 10-15 minutes, nausea on and off and stomach churning at night. I have been tested for H Pylori. GP also did a FIT stool test to check for blood in stool and all the usual blood tests, aswell as a CA125 blood test. Now waiting on an appointment letter for a scan the GP referred me for. I guess next stage will be endoscopy. It's now my 7th day on Famotidine, so I guess I need to give it a bit longer. Blood and stool tests came back normal, but symptoms still persist.

Have your symptoms settled? I hope it resolves for both of us. It's most annoying and uncomfortable. I am 46, so I am wondering if these symptoms are in any way linked to Perimenopause.
