room spinning, virus?

Hi,
Just checking if this rings a bell with anyone. This morning at work i was suddenly hit by exhaustion, i fell asleep at my desk. at the same time the room was spinning, and i sounded like i was drunk, couldn't talk normally. i felt like jelly, my muscles in my arms and legs were very tense, and shaky.
I have now slept all day (just woke up), and feel slightly better now (cramps are still there, but spinning is gone, just still a bit dizzy).

Was wondering if this could be connected with cold that i had last week. Ds1 (4yo) has, i think, something similar, as he's for the last week fallen alseep as soon as we come home every evening (he goes to preschool/nursery).
I have had a blood test for anemia (was fine) and thyroid function (was also fine).
Anyone any ideas?

I would get checked out. Sounds a but extreme to be a virus ot something. I got dizzy with latest virus and legs were wobbly but not to point of falling asleep.

Others may come along with similar experiences, so you can ignore me.

Sounds like flu! If it happens again you should see a doctor to rule out anything neurological though.
