DD, 16 should have been sitting GCSEs this week. She has completed two weeks of exams and then had half-term off and didn't have an exam on Monday. Monday afternoon she started to feel severely nauseous and it hasn't gone away. We've been to the GP twice and he prescribed Stemetil (prochlorperazine) and she had the first yesterday afternoon so we were optimistic - she had another just before bed and a third this morning but is no better. She says it has taken the edge off the feeling but her body still wants to vomit, she can't face food (and we are struggling to get drinks into her in any quantity) and is exhausted and flat. Yesterday she managed a few ritz crackers, a few bites of ham sandwich and half an avocado - that was the total for the day.
She got her period on Tuesday, which starts heavy and is irregular. She does have some anxiety but the fact that she managed two weeks of exams (the first two weeks) and seemed fine, suggests it is not that.
Any ideas/experience?
I've got probiotics and vitamins.
it wouldn't be such a big deal if she wasn't missing the exams they spend their whole school career working towards. it's heartbreaking.
