Worried about skin cancer :(

Hello,
I noticed a spot on my back near the bra strap area, a few weeks ago and then just thought it's a spot but yesterday I felt it and a white scab came off it so I had a look, it's in quite an awkward place. My mum thinks it could be a spot but I'm not sure, what else could it be?! I'm going to attempt to get a doctors appointment today

Looks like a spot, keep an eye on it. If it gets bigger, changes colour or doesn't feel right.

Looks like a spot. Put some TCP on it or Savlon and see if it clears up then see the GP if not.

Hi

as someone who has had Melanoma that does not look like a skin cancer to me. Melanomas that aren't from moles tend to be dark and blister like. I had something like that on my leg last year and raced to the dermatologist only to be told it's some sort of blocked skin cell and will go away on it's on which it did after about a month.

Obviously a doctor can reassure you but hope this helps a bit x

Thank you for the comments, forgot to mention my mum had basal cell carcinoma a few years ago so I'm worried plus I stupidly used to burn myself in the sun :( haven't really been in the sun for the last 5 years though
Thank you x

Sorry to hear that :( that's great that it was okay on your leg though, thank you for the reassurance, I will still try to get it checked x

I had this thread a few days ago and youve already had more responses than I did 🤣 that looks like a spot though I think op. Keep an eye on it

Just to update, I sent photos to my gp this morning and I've been referred on the 2ww pathway to see a dermatologist. I have peace of mind now so if you still feel concerned op just get it looked at.

That's good that you spoke to the doctor, hope you get a positive outcome :)
