Didn’t know I was pregnant and had a bad lifestyle

Hi there
I found out I was 7 months pregnant a month ago I have been casually drinking, smoking and doing cocaine weekly (stopped when I found out). Also Had regular periods etc.
I cannot believe it. I have been to the anomaly scan and they said everything is perfect, had blood tests, weight fine etc. Everything normal. I’m still going out of my mind thinking something could be wrong with my child.
even though the scans come out fine could there be something wrong?

We do the best we can with the information we have at the time. Sending love ❣️

Try not to worry. I know other people who have had similar and their babies have been fine. The most important thing is you have stopped now.

Sponge19 · 07/06/2022 22:06

You won’t know until the baby is born and possibly until not even after that

ChristinaBlang · 07/06/2022 22:09

Do you feel you could discuss this with your midwife ? There may be some issues with the baby being dependent on substances after birth which you might need help with.

I didn’t know I was pregnant until the Monday-I had him on the Saturday
id smoked (a lot),drank(even more),been on at least 15 rollercoasters, eaten soft cheeses/rare steak/god knows how much tuna/danced at god knows how many nightclubs etc etc
he was fine-he’s 22 now and no Ill effects at all
try not to stress-I know how hard that is,I still feel guilty now-I wouldn’t have done any of those things if I’d known he was in there
babies are tough and I’m sure yours will be fine
