29 year old sister has breast cancer

Hi. My 26 year old sister found out a few days ago that she has breast cancer. She has been told it is triple negative and grade 3 stage one probably but will get detailed results back next week. She will be tested for the brca gene. I’m just wondering if anyone else has been in this position or knows anyone who has. I’m wondering what her prognosis is as well as how best to support her. We don’t live close, she is in Manchester and I am down south. Any advice or experience much appreciated. Thanks

Yes, this was me 8 years ago. I was a wee bit older than your sister at 36.
I had chemo, then surgery, then radiotherapy. For me, I had the BRCA2 gene, so I also needed my ovaries removed. I'd already had 3 DCs so that was ok.
For triple negative, there aren't the targeted hormone therapies there are for other forms, although I think that might be changing now.
The rest of my family got tested too, and my dad and sister were also BRCA positive. The good news is that I am still here!! Please PM me if you want to!
