Constipated 5 month ds

My ds is 5 months and is constipated i think, he didn't do a poo on Mon and Tues but did really smelly farts and then did a MASSIVE nappy on wednesday evening and since then no poos again but smelly farts again and seems a bit uncomfortable, how can I help him? He has just started on baby rice so i think it might be this?

My ds2 is 4 months and only has 1/2 dirty nappies a week which is normal for him. HV said not to worry as long as it's once every 10 days! I'd suggest if you've recently started baby rice changes in pooing could be his body getting used to it and i'd see if it settles over a few more days!

i;d stop the baby rice and keep going with more milk, if that is the only thing that has changed, then cut it out for now, and wait a week or two before reintroducing.. is he breast or bottle fed?

he's breastfed but the doc advised to start on solids as it may help his reflux, otherwise he has to go on meds for it

Baby rice can be constipating. Could you try pureed fruit or veg?
