Early miscarriage?

Chloe55 · 12/01/2008 12:56

I think this is what is happening. Had 2 early miscarriages a few years ago but they seemed slightly different to what's happening now.

Basically, was a week late (we are TTC), didn't think anything of it though as my periods have decided not to be regular anymore. Started with som slight bleeding for a couple of days, not a true period as only ver small amounts. Had terrible stomach cramps and back ache yesterday (I don't normally get backache) and today I put in a super tampax, 5mins later I had flooded it and had blood running down my legs, sat on the toilet and passed an enormous clot. Ten mins later the same thing happened - this time I inspected what came out and it was like a jelly substance surrounded by thick clots.

Do I just sit and ride this out? I have friends coming round for tea later and have so much to do today, I feel like I just need to get on with things and forget about this but I am passing a fair amount of blood and seem contantly in the loo at the mo. DH has gone on the footie and ds will be waking from his nap soon

Chloe, can you get DH home? It sounds like you could do with someone with you at the moment. Any chance of getting to the doctors?

I am sorry you are going through this.

If you are mcing then you should use pads if you have them(Tampons can cause infection)
If you are soaking more than one pad an hour you need to go to a & E as that is too much blood to be losing.
You will probably find that you are going to have to take it a lot easier too. if you continue to lose that much blood you really need to take it easy

aquababe · 12/01/2008 13:04

oh and it's sometime worth keeping big clots to let the hospital see them. it makes it easier to judge (i think)

Chloe55 · 12/01/2008 13:11

Can't really get dh home, his footie team is over an hour away and a friend has taken him. I have swopped to pads as thought that was the case aqua and can't keep changing a tampax anyway!

Contemplated keeping the stuff that came away but didn't think there was much that could be done anyway so didn't bother.

Can't really work out my feelings on this one. I am upset it's happening but everytime somethig passes out of me it is making me cringe and feel physically sick. Sorry if TMI

I'm sorry to hear that notjustmum, please, if you don't mind talking about it can you tell me when the clots stop coming if they have for you?

No, thankyou for elaborating. I have passed 2 very large jelly like clots and lots of smaller clots with lots of blood. I'm hoping that's my lot then and I might just pass blood now, which I can cope with.

I hope you feel ok soon notjustamum x

I'll keep a check on the pad situation and will go to hospital if the flow doesn't slow down.

So sorry to hear that both of you are going through this, notjustmom and chloe.

Chloe - I've just m/cd and the last thing I would have wanted was to entertain friends. Physically the pain and blood loss can make you feel ill, and also emotionally it's hard.

I found that the more physical stuff I did, the worse I felt and the heavier the blood loss.

I kinda feel like I want to Belgo, you know, to take my mind off things? Strangely, the cramps I had were yesterday and now I just have a mild uncomfortableness, I'm not really in any physical pain anymore. I'm also sorry for your loss

that's true, it might help you take your mind off of it.

So sorry you are both going through this.

I mc just before xmas at 6 weeks and I passed 2 large clots and lots of little ones, but the bleeding was not too bad (lasted about 6 days).

If the bleeding is still heavy on monday seeing your GP might be a good idea.

Chloe55 · 24/01/2008 20:25

Ok I need your advise again please.

Went to gp on mon as still had cramping and felt a bit achey (have had a nasty cold though). She did an external examination, confirmed I probably had had an early miscarriage and advised me to come back if I got a smelly discharge or started bleeding again.

Anyway, today I have ++++++ white/clear discharge (it does not smell offensive though), have cramping and am very very bloated. It feels like I will start AF as been a bit snappy and emotional too over past couple of days.

Do you know if it is possible to start AF just two weeks after miscarriage? Do you I should go back to the gp?

OP posts:
loopylou6 · 24/01/2008 20:28

im not sure if its possible or not, but clear/white discharge that doesnt smell doesnt sound a problem, maybe your ovulating?

Chloe55 · 24/01/2008 21:29

Hmm that's a thought loopy, would also coincide more realistically with dates. I don't normally bloat up like this unless I'm on but I guess things could have all changed since the miscarriage. Mentioned it to dh but don't think he's all that keen to get jiggy with a discharging bloated whale
