Teenager’s sore bruise 6 months after concussion?

Numpty DS is in middle of sitting key exams, and yesterday showed me the lump on his forehead (usually hidden by hair).
i took him to hospital when he concussed originally (sports-related), but they refused to x-ray at the time. He says it is still sore, but he thought it was just healing slowly…
The bump is soft, large, visible and looks/feels like the kind of bump you’d expect around 5 days post-injury after the initial swelling goes down. No obvious hardness to (or within) the bump.
Any ideas what this could indicate? I will of course make sure he goes to GP but his GP can be a bit dismissive at times, and Dr Google doesn’t have a clear answer that I can find. His exams go on for a month so I am minded to wait till after they finish, but will obviously act sooner if needed. Any advice much appreciated.

I would definitely do something sooner rather than later. That doesn't sound normal at all.

Hi I had a look at google and one suggestion I found was that it could be a lipoma. Apparently some research indicates that they can form at the site of a previous accident - definitely worth getting checked out though.
