GP wants to remove a nasty skin patch from DD's leg asap. Last 2 GP's said nothing to worry about!

DD (16) had a small bump on her calf appear almost a year ago. The bump went down and she was left with a bruised area, under the skin, that didn't go, so we took her to GP. She went in herself and told us it was just "some sort of mark, burst vein? She would have to live with it, will be there forever!

As this was on her leg and mainly covered up I forgot about it, until saw her in shorts and was horrified to see thing was scabby and bigger! She showed me photos she had been taking of it going scabby, occasional pus, flaking, scab off & start again!!!

Straight back to (another) GP who said some sort of infection, try this cream & if no better come back in a couple of weeks. She also said one of the GP's was a Dermatology specialist.

Well, Dermatology GP took one look today and said we need an appt to cut whole thing out before the end of the month It will be quite a long scar as lesion has spread to a few centimetres long (about 1cm wide).

She is going next week, but I am a bit annoyed that last GP didn't take more action.

Reassuring stories of lesion removals please!

(Name Changed as DD knows my posting name!)

No stories, sorry (unless you count a jet black mole that appeared on my arm when I was a child, that scared me and the GP but vanished before it could be removed..), but did want to bump for you.

Wishing your dd well, let us know how it goes!
