Fed up of the NHS - recurrent thrush

I have been suffering with recurrent thrush for a few years now and I have tried everything advised by the doctors - changed to cotton knickers, no washing with soap, coming off of the combined pill etc. I have also been on long term courses of fluconazole which work while I am on them but the problem always comes back, my GP and gynaecologist both keep me telling me to just stay on the medication long term but I am 23 and I do not want to do this for the rest of my life. I have been tested for vitamin deficiencies, thyroid problems and diabetes but they all came back normal. I would like them to do some further investigations e.g. look at my hormone levels or insulin resistance but they refuse. I am so fed up and have really been struggling mentally as I feel alone in this and after 4 years I feel like there is no light at the end of the tunnel and I may have to succumb to a life on medication (if I don't become resistant that is). Has anyone has this kind of experience with the NHS or with recurrent thrush.
