FFS I've just accidentally taken twice as much propanolol as I should

So before going to sleep I take 2 venlafaxine... But as I didn't have my glasses on I picked up a sheet of 40mg propanolol and took two of those instead., so 80mg in total. I only realised after I'd swallowed them and thought 'they seem smaller than usual'

Should I be calling 111 or will I be fine?

I think I would call 111 to be sure.
Maybe fine but doesn't hurt to check?

None today, I take it 'as and when' for anxiety.

They prescribe 80mg for situational anxiety so you should be hopefully be fine. Call 111 to check though if you need reassurance.

You will be fine. propranolol can be supplied in 80 and 160 mg tablets, you wont overdose on 80 mg.

It’s a low dose, it’s fine. I take 40mg twice a day but have occasionally taken 2 together.

I take two together pretty often. It will be fine

80mg is a dose commonly given for hypertension. You might be a bit light headed...

How is your blood pressure on a normal day..my only concern would be that if you generally have low blood pressure normally, then the propanolol might send it really low. But you will almost certainly be fine, just go to bed and sleep it off

I think you should ring 111 - it’s not just taking your proponal - does it interact with your other drugs? Ie I know some other drugs make a proponal dose stronger like some anti depressants

Weighing up wether to call 111, as I have a feeling they will say to go to A&E just to cover themselves just in case... But it's an hour away and I can't drive myself obviously

I think I might just risk it and hope I don't snuff it in my sleep

I doubt they will say to go to A&E as some people take this dose and higher doses than this every day!

Update- I was absolutely fine. Sat up for a few hours, no wierd side effects so went to sleep.

I accidentally took 80mg of propanalol instead off 20mg phoned 111 and said I should be fine and leave tomorrow dose off . I feel OK just my heart rate is slow .feel such a plonker still scared though I'll feel better when my heart rate come up

Anyone else done this ?
