Hayfever injection or fexofenadine

I get awful hayfever every year-tends to be worst in late May/June.
Every year I think about getting the injection but couldn’t find anywhere close by that offered it.
i usually get a prescription for fexofenadine which is just about enough to keep the worst at bay.
but this year not only can you get fexofenadine from the supermarket (!!!)
I’ve also found out that a local dentist is offering the injection.
it’s more expensive than 2 months worth of fexofenadine but if it’s better I’m happy to pay
or is there any negatives to either of them in terms of side effects?
thanks

My DP has it every year and says it works, it’s a steroid injection in your bum cheek and it suppresses the immune system slightly so that you don’t react to pollen so readily. He says it’s great, loads of my colleagues have it, and I’m having mine on Friday as seem to be suffering this year.

The NHS has stopped doing it as they didn’t feel it was effective enough over standard antihistamines.

Its called Kenalog if anyone wants to have a Google about it.
