That isn’t gives! Suggests she get seen by a doctor.

thatwasawetone · 30/04/2022 23:53

On me, that would be an allergic reaction - urticaria etc.

chisanunian · 30/04/2022 23:58

If that rash rapidly worsens or she starts to feel unwell or breathless, then please seek urgent medical advice.

TooBigForMyBoots · 30/04/2022 23:58

Have they been in forest/woodland?

WhatTheWhoTheWhatThe · 30/04/2022 23:59

My sons skin looked liked this when he had erythema multiforme minor. Doctor said it was an immune reaction to a virus (likely a throat infection I think he said, was over 10 years ago so foggy on the details)

Yarnasaurus · 01/05/2022 00:00

It looks like hives (urticaria) to me. I've been having episodes for 25+ years.

She needs to see her GP, it can be viral, stress, allergic and for other reasons.

Antihistamines will help.

Huge sympathy for her Flowers

WhatTheWhoTheWhatThe · 01/05/2022 00:01

I would get it checked out sooner rather than later though. My sons hands, feet and face started swelling as well.

Yes, this ^

daveyfish · 01/05/2022 00:04

This is how hives/urticaria presents with me, over the counter anti-histamines prescribed, def needs to see a doctor - looks really itchy and extensive area

YouBoggleMyMind · 01/05/2022 00:06

Another vote for urticaria and an antihistamine to help.

UseHerName · 01/05/2022 00:11

I had an antihistamine and gave it to her - her wee face looks a bit puffy to me round the eyes and it’s spread to her neck and cheeks

dont know @TooBigForMyBoots why do you ask that?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 01/05/2022 00:15

If she's puffy round the face I'd get her seen asap, that's a pretty bad reaction.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 01/05/2022 00:15

NOW if she's swelling round her throat.

Dodie66 · 01/05/2022 00:17

You should call 111 for advice

DoctorMarten · 01/05/2022 00:18

Oh blimey. Please take her to A&E. They need to do a blood test.

MissMatty2hats · 01/05/2022 00:19

Have you considered Pityriasis Rosea?
My daughter had this, it’s very common in teens apparently and it hung on for months.

Yarnasaurus · 01/05/2022 00:25

Puffy neck and cheeks she needs A&E for suspected anaphylaxis.

Do not wait.

UseHerName · 01/05/2022 00:31

Sorry I caused alarm there my sentence wasn’t well structure me - she’s puffy around her eyes and the welts have spread to her cheeks/neck (not the puffiness)

her cheeks are sort of spotty and different from the welts whereas her skin is normally quite clear

OP posts:
MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 01/05/2022 00:33

I'd get her seen asap as it's spreading. Seriously, it can suddenly turn nasty.

ElizabethinherGermanGarden · 01/05/2022 00:34

It looks like a nasty reaction. Even if it is not a serious (anaphylactic) reaction, it really looks bad and sounds as if it is getting worse. I think you should consider A&E.

onedayiwillflyaway1 · 01/05/2022 00:37

I would call 111 or go to the out of hours walk in centre if antihistamines don't work. Hope she is ok and this isn't anything too serious.

onedayiwillflyaway1 · 01/05/2022 00:38

meant to say its better to be safe than sorry.

Yarnasaurus · 01/05/2022 01:02

If it's spreading and not responding to AHs please get medical advice.

KangFang · 01/05/2022 01:08

I think I'd be going to the emergency room, if it was my child.

AiryFairyLights · 01/05/2022 01:31

It definitely looks like a reaction to something and as others have said, I’d get her checked out as soon as possible due to it spreading to her face and neck x
