He's healthy weight, generally healthy. used to eat alot of sugar, like 3 tbsp in tea. but he's off the sugar now. He is also off the tea these days due to fasting, so doesn't drink tea regularly but on odd days.

I think the headache is from infrequently drinking tea, what do you think is going on? thanks

I get a low blood sugar headache from fasting....?

SouthOfFrance · 29/04/2022 17:17

Is he also unable to type for himself? 😆

SpindleInTheWind · 29/04/2022 17:18

I don't know. Never heard of such a thing tbh. I suppose if that happened to me I'd probably drink some water and have a google.

RoyKentsChestHair · 29/04/2022 17:18

I get headaches from withdrawal of sugar or caffeine. May be that the heat of the shower isn’t helping either.

mumznet · 29/04/2022 17:18

@SouthOfFrance yes haha. is mumsnet really only for ladies or open to all?

@SouthOfFrance You are more robust of answer than I.

mumznet · 29/04/2022 17:20

@DrRuthGalloway that could be it. I think he also gets it when not fasting, and he just takes paracetamol and some drink. but because he's fasting he can't eat or drink so probably feels the headache more. He thinks he catches a cold after the shower, but I've never heard such a thing and it's not that cold these days??

Is he fasting including not drinking water.

And if he is a healthy weight what is hoping to achieve

FinallyHere · 29/04/2022 18:14

How often does he take painkillers? Could he be suffering withdrawal headaches which just come on or are noticed shortly after he wakes up ?

Is his wife honestly not sure whether men are allowed to post on a public forum? Even considering that possibility make my head ache.

mumznet · 29/04/2022 18:19

yes he takes pain killers quite frequently so I think at least 2-3 times a week or more. I did inform him not to take it that much as it has side effects.

I know they can post on here (men) but the name is mumsnet, so is it really only meant to be for mums? thanks sorry if it sounds silly

the headaches happen after a shower that's what he has said

I'd assume the headaches were from the temperature change / blood pressure but no idea.

MatchaTea · 29/04/2022 20:10

How hot and how long are his showers? Hot water can cause paroxysmal headache.

Maydaysoonenough · 29/04/2022 20:12

Does he ahem wank in the shower? Post coital headache is a real thing.

HeddaGarbled · 29/04/2022 20:35

Standing up for a long time when inadequately fed?

This was my thought

mumznet · 29/04/2022 23:00

he just laughed when I asked him about the wank and how hot the water is...
he has taken paracetamol.....I'm beginning to think the PP above may have spoke the culprit. I don't know why he doesn't understand not to take it regulalrly. it's like every other day he's taking it like sweets.....

It could be a positional headache, does it go away when he lies down for half an hour?
