Worried about husbands blood results

So my husband has had a fever on and off for 2 weeks and feeling full after eating small amounts. He went to the gp last week and she done bloods which came back the next day saying it shows he has an infection and has to go back next week for more bloods. I'm worried sick that it could be something sinister. We have all had a bug in the family since his symptoms started with vomiting and diarrhea but I can't help but fear something is wrong. If it was something sinister would the gp know by the bloods

If he is fine in a few weeks with antibiotics, then nothing to worry about. Probably due to an infection, especially with the fever, vomiting and diarrhoea.

Otherwise, the GP can always consider referring him for an ultrasound scan or even an endoscopy.

They didn't give him antibiotics they just said they would do more blood tests next week. His symptoms have improved and he is feeling nearly back to normal is this a good sign?

If he is feeling better, absolutely. Don't worry too much about it, in that case.The follow-up blood tests will put you at ease more.
