Fertility after childbirth?

My DD is one month old, should I start taking the pill again now to aviod possibly getting pregnant? I have only just stopped bleeding. Is it true that you are at your most fertile soon after giving birth?

Are you breastfeeding? It's not a surefire method of contraception. I'm pregnant and still bfing DD!

You do need to make alternative arrangements though, unless you want to get pregnant quickly. My brother and I have ten months between us!
