Help with pain to left of my chest/boob pain

All day long I was experiencing a pain in my chest. It's to the left of my chest. I don't know if it's boob pain or chest pain. It's just a dull ache that's on and off all day. It goes just as quick as it comes. On a pain scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest, I would put it at about a 2. It's a heavy type of achy pain. That's all.

I found a picture online and edited it to show a rough idea as to where the pain is.

I know I am die my period in a day or two. I am nearly 40 so I presume I am peri-menopausal (spelling?). I don't know if any of that would have anything to do with pains.

The pain doesn't come when I breathe or eat or drink. I think it comes about a lot with certain movements like bending. Would it be possible to strain that area? I don't know. My left shoulder was sore at the weekend. I am a knitter so I don't know if I am straining my body while knitting. Or if it's menstrual related or something else.

It comes and goes about every 5 minutes and only really lasts a few seconds.

Has anyone experienced this before?

I don't wear wires in my bra by the way so it's not that.

I would ring 111 but I think they will want to you go to A and E for an ECG.

I forgot to add, I had copious amounts of coffee over this past weekend. I don't usually have a lot of coffee but over Sunday and Monday I must have at about 8 cups. I usually only have about 1 or 2 cups a day. I do t know if that would have anything to do with it.

I wear a smartwatch with a health tracking app and my heart rate isn't unusual or showing anything out of the normal pattern.

Precordial catch syndrome?

Costochondritis? I went to the GP with a similar pain today and got told I have this.

Probably worth ringing 111 though, my GP gave me a pretty speedy appointment today to check it wasn’t something more sinister

I have exactly the same pain in exactly the same place. Have had it for about 4 years but Im nearly 49 and I think its peri. Gets worse before period and if too much coffee.
If it gets too bad I take ibuprofen at the dr"s advice. Probably because she has no idea what it is.
I figure it will go away one day. Had lots of tests and nothing wrong with cardiovascular system so must be muscular or hormonal.
