Anyone signed up with PruHealth private medical cover and free gym?

New Year and all that and I need to join a gym. I'd also like to get private medical cover for the family and the deal with PruHealth where you get subsidised or free gym membership with your cover looks pretty good. There are a few posts on here but not clear if anyone's joined up.

The quote is pretty good and the better gym chains are covered but just wondering if there are any limitations, drawbacks or whatever? Is the gym membership different to the standard one you would pay for, any extra fees, etc?

Anyone on this scheme? Thanks.

have a look on moneysavingexpert, it goes into quite a lot of detail IIRC. DH was going to sign up but hasn't got around to it yet.

I signed up this time last year, had my free six months then cancelled the medical cover. Would highly recommend it, you get full membership and there are no limitations or drawbacks at all. Go for it .

IIRC you have to visit the gym a minimum number of times, but could just sign in and have a coffee or something - you are not forced onto a treadmill

There was definitely no minimum number of visits in my contract, wouldn't be a bad thing though - I could've done with some extra motivation to go

Excellent, thanks - I'll check moneysavingexpert - could probably do with reading the whole site post-Christmas spending binge.

Can anyone get into the Pru website at the moment?
