She had a bit of a rash on her tummy last night but I put it down to being hot having been a party and it was maybe heat rash.

Have to admit didn't think about it this morning before school, she was fine, off she went.

Picked her tonight she has a raised bumpy rash all over legs, upper and lower and an under-the-skin type rash on her torso and arms.

Not on meds, not ill, no temp, no other symptons.

Call gp - could be a viral rash but gp can then ask to see her if your description worries her/him.

I have, got to wait to 6pm.

So, talk to me about viral rashes.

She was ill will headache, temp virus thing over Christmas but has been fine for over a week and back to normal. Maybe it's an after effect of that?

They did talk me through the menigitis checks on the phone but she's completely well apart from the rash.

Urticaria apparently - allergic reaction to something, don't know what. Not changed washing powder or eaten anything unusual. Am wondering what triggered it. It's really bad on her arms and legs and tummy.

viral rash, by the sound of it - it's a type of urticaria, and ds1 fgets them ALL THE TIME. it's a pain in the arse, but they don't bother him. Give piriton.

Doc gave loratadine - it's not itchy at all which is weird. I just wanted to get it checked so she could go to school with a note about rather than them calling me tomorrow and asking me to collect her!!

thanks all

No, I don't think it's that, as it's her whole body but I do remember that when I used to do PE at school and a rash would flare up on my legs in the ridiculous PE skirts we had to wear!!!

It has started itching now too so I hope she doesn't scratch it red raw in the night.
