Blot clot fear - am I being daft?

I have a friend who died a year ago from a blot clot in his leg that became a pulmonary embolism and another friend who is on lifelong medication for a clotting disorder so I may be being overly paranoid here but...

I banged my right calf on the pointy bit of the car door just over a month ago. It was bruised and sore for quite a while and is still tender now and the area sort of feels a bit bumpy. There's a small amount of swelling but no discolouration. Bruise is barely visible any more. In my rational mind I'm thinking it's probably getting better but the lumpyness and slight swelling and the fact that it's been 5 weeks and still tender to touch is bothering me. My legs are also achey but I'm run down and a bit ill at the moment so could just be that. There's no redness, only a tiny bit of local swelling where I bumped it and no throbbing pain. Would I be daft to get it checked out?

Not daft to get it looked at, but a clot would normally produce more swelling.

Thanks. I have a gp appointment tomorrow so I'll ask about it then. I'm just worried because I'm feeling ill and exhausted. It's probably completely unrelated.
