Unbearably itchy after fever/high temperature?

I just need to know if this happens to anyone else? And what it is?

Whenever I get an illness that causes a high temperature, about 12 hours after the temperature subsides I get absolutely unbearably itchy all around my torso, back of legs and neck.

It's starts off as a burning prickly sensation, then when I itch it its relieved for a few seconds and then suddenly cones back worse and spreads all across my body and I just cannot stop itching it, as the burning prickle is so painful. It's honestly debilitating, I had to pull over the car this morning when it started as I couldn't drive safely.

After the bouts of itching are gone (about a day) I'm left with red lumpy skin that then goes extremely dry and sore.

What is this??!!!

I get this too, it’s a cortisol response to the virus that you’ve had. I haas a particularly bad response after having Covid. I take antihistamines now as soon as I feel the first prickle, usually just in my hairline at the back of my head.
