Hi everyone, please could someone let me know if you've experienced anything similar before?? I've had left sided neck pain (sort of the front left side) since the start of February this year. I have the pain daily, it feels like a deep ache/throb kind of pain that radiates between my jaw and collarbone. Honestly the constant pain and fear that it's something bad is really getting me down and causing such a low mood, I just keep wanting to cry 😢

I went to my GP a couple of weeks ago, he felt my neck and laughed at me and said he has no idea but can't feel anything so just see how it goes. The longer I leave it the more worried I get and I keep hearing horror stories!

Has anyone had anything similar or have any advice please?! It's not like a muscle pain, doesn't hurt when I move it...I'll just be sat here and it starts burning/aching/thrombing. Thank you so much in advance for any help x x

Physio may be worth a go. Lots of decent ones privately available, not prohibitively expensive and, if they can't help, they'll tell you. Or try another GP if you can.

Could it be referred dental pain?

Thanks for your reply beattieedny, I went to physio a while ago for shoulder problems so I'm going to try calling them back Monday.

Littlemissprosecco - I don't have any dental issues that I'm aware of, I do wonder if it is some sort of referred pain from elsewhere though 🤔 x

Is there any swelling in the area when you get the pain?

Orangesandlemons82 · 19/03/2022 17:31

When I have had a burning pain in the past it has been nerve related and found that amitriptyline helped reduce it to a manageable level. It might be worth looking into the symptoms to see if it fits your pain symptoms

Not that I can feel, it feels similar to the other side which is strange considering how bad the pain is! X

This might sound really stupid but could you possibly need a new bra? Maybe the ones you're currently wearing offer no support so the straps are doing all the work and causing pain? I read something about shoulder neck pain that solders would get on the side they held all their stuff and an ill fitting bra can pull in the sane way.
