Do you have weird nerve pain or discomfort?

For a good few years I’ve had burning, tightness etc and it’s been variously put down to psychosomatic and then an actual condition. I don’t think either explain it fully.
Just wondered if others are just getting in with it having drawn a blank.
All down my right side is mainly affected. Shoulder blade and collar bone, mid shin/calf, wrist - all just tightness, burning, etc.

Ive got it but left side, side of neck, infront of left ear collar bone and carpal tunnel like symptoms. No Idea what it is though.

I have nerve pain. Gabapentin really helped although it was hard at first as I felt completely spaced out. Lifesaver for me though and would recommend talking to dr about it

It’s weird isn’t it? I had nerve conduction testing and an MRI (brain) but no real cause except something that explains my arm.

Yes I have neuropathic pain, especially in legs, feet and toes but elsewhere at times. Mine started after an accident. It is better than it was so not complaining.

There are ways of alleviating the pain and discomfort. It isn't psychosomatic but there's no doubt anxiety exacerbates it (as does alcohol and smoking so 'no no' to both of those.

On facebook there is a peripheral neuropathy group in which members share their experience and treatments. However you have to make up your mind about what you do, some medication is quite drastic and has awful side effects. It is, however, a supportive group.

It’s interesting to see other people are also living with it. Right now my leg is burning and a bit numb. Sometimes walking is tricky. But it’s been years and just how it is.

ENoeuf, take a good magnesium supplement, Vitamin B complex and thiamine. Drink plenty of water.

Right leg and foot and sometimes pelvis. It's constant, but I feel it most at night and it's a buzzy sensation.
Doctor said it's gallbladder related as inflamed gallbladder presses on a big fat nerve that goes all down the right side to the feet.

@Bromse of that sounds worth a try. I just wondered how common it was to have unexplained nerve pain all the time. I got sick of seeing the GP in the end. But that all sounds like a good non intrusive thing to try.

That’s interesting. Gallbladders. I have something called TOC which explains a bit of it but not the rest. It’s just an unpleasant background most of the time.

Yes. It turned out to be due to pernicious anaemia

ENoeuf · 11/03/2022 15:54

Oh that’s interesting too. Thank you.

Paingone gel, Ibuprofen gel and Vicks' applied to feet is also very helpful (I might have already said that). What is TOC?
