Blood in toilet bowl but not when I wipe?

I'm 34 weeks pregnant this is so so embarrassing
I have been constipated due to pregnancy and medication I'm taking
I've been using laxatives and supositories to cope with this

I had piles before really small more like a swollen bottom hole 😭 urgh this is so embarrassing. But I don't have that at the moment.

I've just been to the toilet and I am constipated I had to use a suppository to go. When I looked in the toilet bowl the water was literally bright red. Like quite some blood to make the water red.

I wiped my bottom there's NO blood on it.

I've wiped my vagina etc and there's no blood there at all either.

Has the blood come from in me? Is that haemheroids or however you spell it? I'm not in pain: I mean I can tell I've just been to the toilet and strained but I'm not In agony. What do I do? Is this a doctor thing? I'm so paranoid and also embarrassed.

I'm also anaemic to add to my misery.

If you are constipated your stools can be hard and dry and can scratch internally so the blood comes out with the bowel movement, but there isn’t any blood externally when you wipe.

At one point I had so much blood that I couldn’t even see the bottom of the toilet, all the water was dark red! Very alarming but a colonoscopy showed everything was fine.

If you are concerned do call the Dr.
Have you tried taking fybogel daily to help? Laxatives & suppositories sounds miserable.

Aww! OP, it's probably haemorrhoids but I would speak to your GP, especially as your pregnant. You don't want to be worrying. (Your GP won't mind talking about this and will not be embarrassed but will realise you probably are embarrassed)

I'm going to do an e consult form for my GP

Thanks so much for responding to me. I'm so worried.

I have used fibrogel but it didn't help 😕 even when I used it for weeks on end I still had to supplement it with some Lactulose or Movicol

I don't have to use the laxatives daily but if I take a heap of pain killers then I need to make sure I use laxatives and also a suppository to help as I don't want to strain and hurt my bottom.

I'm relieved to hear it can scratch on the inside. It makes sense. I'm shocked how red it was, like you said OP

I'm also being extra paranoid because I was suddenly anaemic a few weeks ago as well.

This pregnancy hasn't been kind to me

I had this just after dd was born, constipation was a bitch. Got it checked out everything was fine. If your unsure just speak to your gp.
