Fucking HUGE worm

What is post won't adequately display the horror that I felt this morning.

So both my kids had a poo before bed last night. No dramas, I didn't notice anything untoward. This morning I woke up and went to the toilet and there is a giant, alive, wriggling worm. It's brown and skinny and swimming around like a snake.

Aside from burning my house down I don't know what to do about this. We tried to take it out but it broke apart.

Please tell me it's an earthworm come up through the pipes, and it hasn't came out of one of my children's bums!

Fucking HUGE worm

Aaaaarrrrghhhhh! Why did I just watch the video??! What is it?

legalseagull · 04/03/2022 16:29

@Bytrgrewd

It’s front end looks bigger and chunkier than the rest I think?
Yea so earthworm right?!? Right!!!

Earthworms mantle is up near the mouth end so hopefully that explains the thick bit at the top.

I thought it looked a bit leech like in its movement but that's possibly because its swollen up. Too big for a British leech. Small mercys. I think it's a earthworm but my degree was a long time ago ( studied entomology as part of the degree) stand down the flame thrower 😉

AndStand · 04/03/2022 16:49

We've had one just the same in our first floor toilet. I just assumed it was an earthworm, though I never worked out how it got there.

100% definitely NOT a tapeworm. Tapeworms are nothing like that at all!

I’ve been thinking leech too - you do definitely get leeches this size in the uk. But not the right shape I think?

Just to let you know, you can see your children beneath on the screenshot you posted.

DirtyDancing · 04/03/2022 17:26

Wow that's huge. We had an infestation of smaller worms in our loo last year. Bloody bizarre and freaked me out. Literally doused the loo in bleach for two weeks pretty much non stop. Got rid No idea how they got there to this day

NanTheWiser · 04/03/2022 17:26

I once found a leech in my kitchen sink. Convinced it had come up from the waste pipe, but no proof! Water board weren’t much help, said it was impossible.

Thank you. I hadn't noticed.

It has come from the pipes. Been there!

RonCarlos · 04/03/2022 18:09

Ps I can say this with some authority after the amount of worm googling I did at the time!

isthismylifenow · 04/03/2022 18:27

That video 😂. Gross isn't it. I also think it's an earthworm. And they can swim so it's come up the pipe somehow.

I have sat on a loo that had a scorpion in it. I'm glad it stayed there it was, actually I'm not sure which of us got the biggest fright. Me for it being there, or it for being peed on. But I do think that went in the bowl from the bathroom and not up the pipe. I do live in Africa btw. Had quite a few frogs too. Always look in the loo before sitting down 😂. And always check your glass of water next to the bed when having a drink during the night.

TellMeMoreHellebore · 04/03/2022 18:36

it did look like it had a full body hidden halfway down the pan!

PaddleBoardingMomma · 04/03/2022 19:10

This thread is the worst thing that's ever happened to me, give me all those biscuit emoji things 😫😫😫

Actually feel nauseas 😂 toilet worms... who'd have thought it 🤮

Yes I would have liked to see the whole thing 😆
RandomUsernameHere · 04/03/2022 19:27

I'm petrified and I haven't even watched the video!!!

CornishGem1975 · 04/03/2022 20:11

I am horrified by that video 🤣

You don't just live in Africa. You live in my nightmares Shock That's horrific!!!

@Blogblogblogblog

Fun fact: a Clitellum is the ‘posh’ word for the saddle in the earthworm
And most men can never identify an earthworm’s saddle
Whatamesssss · 04/03/2022 20:47

I'm pretty sure that is a leech, google UK leeches, some look very like earthworms. Your one looks quite thick near the top.

I saw one in my garden in London that was about 12-15cm when it stretched out squirming along. (shudder)

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 04/03/2022 21:16

The thought of a worm swimming just makes me🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Greenmarmalade · 04/03/2022 21:18

Fuck. I can’t watch it but my mind is making up the video. SHUDDER

Hohofortherobbers · 04/03/2022 21:23

This thread is terrifying! The video is horrific, my personal and unprofessional opinion is that its a leach. The idea that a newt could emerge from my tap makes me heave Envy

SuperSocks · 04/03/2022 21:28

@Hohofortherobbers If it helps we're on a borehole, not mains!
