Fucking HUGE worm

What is post won't adequately display the horror that I felt this morning.

So both my kids had a poo before bed last night. No dramas, I didn't notice anything untoward. This morning I woke up and went to the toilet and there is a giant, alive, wriggling worm. It's brown and skinny and swimming around like a snake.

Aside from burning my house down I don't know what to do about this. We tried to take it out but it broke apart.

Please tell me it's an earthworm come up through the pipes, and it hasn't came out of one of my children's bums!

Following for the reveal

Bytrgrewd · 04/03/2022 14:44

But if it was a tail attached to a live rat it wouldn’t have fallen apart when they tried to take it out.

motherofdragons58 · 04/03/2022 14:44

It looks like a rat tail in that pic but op said when she fished it out it broke apart so I definitely don't think it can be attached to anything.

I was going to have spaghetti for tea, not anymore...

AmberGer · 04/03/2022 14:45

If you tried taking it out and it broke up then I'm certain it wasn't a rat's tail, They're pretty tough and wouldn't break up that easily.

legalseagull · 04/03/2022 14:45

@givemestrength22

Can you get it out for a better photo? That photo is terrible
It's a screen shot from a video of it swimming around

@PukkaP

It's quite possible that it's come through the pipe. I once found a frog in my toilet. It definitely hadn't come out of my bum

Works from your bum are generally white.

You are going to have to fish it out for us though 😂

purplesequins · 04/03/2022 14:50

what's your plumbing like?

we had earth worms in the toilet bowl when a (victorian) clay pipe collapsed...

Tiphaine · 04/03/2022 14:50

Jesus! This thread is horrifying and compelling! Shock

legalseagull · 04/03/2022 14:51

We've never had any thing come up our pipes before. But I'm sort of hoping that it must be an earthworm although Why hasn't drowned I don't know. My husband tried fishing out of the toilet but it all broke up into pieces. I really wish I could post a video of it wriggling around so you can see it's quite obviously alive and strong

A quick Google shows worms in the toilet, like this, are relatively common and not from the body. Phew 🤣 I needed reassurance.

tigerpants800 · 04/03/2022 14:54

Might be a sign you've got some block further along the pipe. Can you check the manhole?

I got my torch out on the kids bums and they look fine Grin Poor kids. Even if it has come out of the pipes I think that's it for me using that toilet ever again ha ha

I thought this might be a thread for Sporners' Corner but in the end it sounds like it came from the pipes. Is it wrong to be slightly disappointed? Grin

Oh god but I have such a massive phobia (I've shut my eyes to scroll past the photos here) I'd be terrified of them managing to crawl out Shock

I'm exactly the same 🙈 I need to know what I'm up against
CornishGem1975 · 04/03/2022 15:04

I don't recommend searching Google Images then @NippyWoowoo Grin

TellMeMoreHellebore · 04/03/2022 15:05

if it broke up then i still think a tapeworm type as they grow in sections....it think

Pbbananabagel · 04/03/2022 15:06

I once stood up from using the loo at night and turned the light on to find the soap (had just zombie walked in the dark and sat down), only to realise there was a fudging massive spider sat INSIDE the rim of the toilet. It must have been there while I peed. It could’ve ran in my vag Shock
So I obviously took the sensible course of action, screamed, hit it with a loo brush and flushed the toilet vigorously for 20minutes crying to myself. That learnt it.

givemestrength22 · 04/03/2022 15:07

I second @TellMeMoreHellebore a tapeworm. Earth worms would not break up

Justkeeppedaling · 04/03/2022 15:09

I think it's a rat too Sad

ArseInTheCoOpWindow · 04/03/2022 15:09

I was wondering about the breaking thing. Do earthworms break?

I can’t even think about this😭
