Breathing problems

The last 3 months have been horrific for me and my LO, he's been in hospital 3 times, including twice in intensve care with breathing problems. It seems to come after a cold but no main viruses have been identified.

All sort of possibilities are being explored, thankfully big things like Cystic Fibrosis have been excluded. One straw I'm grasping at is a possible intolerance to dairy, as the health problems started at the same time as weaning

But he's been on formula since 1 month old (I was able to mix feed until 4 months)and there never seemed to be a problem. So is it possible to have an intolerance to dairy but be OK on formula?

Thanks, any advice gratefully received

If he also has rash , itching etc then it could be dairy. ds2 had dairy intolerance and couldnt have formula milk, had to have soya formula. Asthma? Some also do react to viruses and bugs in complex ways, maybe it is just that. (I mean 'just' as in thank goodness its nothing more serious)
