Anyone tried methotrexate or cyclosporine for eczema?

I have very bad eczema and it has worsened over the last year or so. I use steroid creams and protopic but it still doesn’t keep it under control. The doctor has suggested starting methotrexate or cyclosporine which are tablets which need monitoring as they are quite strong immunosuppressants I believe.
I’m desperate to get my life back and live as as everyone else in their twenties does. It is really affecting everything but I’m also quite worried about these strong tablets.

Has anyone tried these? Did they work? Did you still have to use strong steroid creams? Did you have side-effects?

No personal experience but my brother has tried both of those for the eczema on his hands - it got so bad that he couldn't use his hands as they were so raw and painful and every little movement caused his skin to split and bleed. I believe he had the best results with cyclosporine, at least that's the one he was on for the longest. He's now trying a new, experimental drug as the results from the cyclosporine still weren't amazing but better than nothing.

I have bad eczema that i can’t control with creams. I have tried cyclosporine but had a few side effects so wasn’t good for me. I was on Azathioprine and came off to have a baby and can’t wait to go back on the tablets now baby is here. It’s the only thing that clears up my skin completely.
