night time wee

I've always had to go for a wee at about 4am. it is a real nuisance, disturbs sleep, etc. I do my pelvic floor exercises like a good girl (esp on the bus! as they say you can with no-one noticing) and delivered by c-section, so there's nothing structurally wrong, as far as I know. but i was wondering if there is anything anyone has done to stop this. I don't drink loads of liquid, just to keep thirst at bay.

any experiences/thoughts?

No experience of this but I do remember something the physio said which was that drinking not enough is worse than drinking too much for weeing ... you should be drinking 1.5 litres, but maybe not just before bed! I find that if I have a drink say maybe a cup of tea past 10pm, I will need a wee in the night.

I also remember that we can get conditioned to wake up so you could be waking up at that time cos you always have and then as you wake a little, you realise you need a wee. So it might be the other way around, you wake, then you have to wee IYSWIM. Maybe tackle it like you do with bedwetting children and wake yourself up by alarm at maybe 3am and go and have a wee. Then 2am, then 1am etc. Absolutely no idea if this would work so feel free to ignore ... just thinking out loud!!!

I too always have to have a night time wee. defi think it is a throw back from being pg and having a bladder under pressure. I wake therefor I have to wee - have tried going back to sleep but always lie there worrying that I might need a wee - so best solution is to get up have a wee and go back to sleep with minimum fuss.
