I posted a couple of weeks ago about having back pain. The gp thought it might be a uti so sent a urine sample off which showed loads of blood and white blood cells but couldnt grow and infection.

I still had back pain so she sent another one off - which showed the same thing.

The gp gave me 3 days antibiotics i am now half way through exactly and i have to be honest i feel crappy.

My back still hurts i now have an upset stomach (probably fr the antibiotics!) and i have been keeping an eye on my temperature and i dont yet have much of a temperature but it has been lower than it is now - its now 37.5 which is still not that high but its enough to make my thermometer beep red Blush

I have had sepsis twice in the past (once from pnumonia and once from tonsilitis) and i really don’t wants to revisit that but at the same time i am only half way through the antibiotics and obviously i dont want to make a fuss about a simple UTI!

Any advice or just a hand hold would be appreciated.

3 days of antibiotics never worked for me. You need 7 or even 10 days if it's not going. I've had probably two dozen UTI's (maybe more!) and I start feeling better immediately after the first dose. UTI's can also be caused by several types of bacteria, and the antibiotics they give need to target the specific bacteria present in your urine. Definitely make a fuss - it can turn into a kidney infection which is much more painful!

In the meantime - lots of water and a hot compress on your lower stomach can help x
