My dd has them. Usually get to hospital and they put the cannula in, they hook her up and she has a nap while it goes through (about an hour for hers). They take it away when it's finished then can go home straight away

Thats basically what I remembered, too.

Can't remember being poorly when they did it at all. I've been told they can be unpleasant but it's not my recollection of things

An iron infusion? Yep, had a couple. Unfortunately had something called a Fishbane reaction with the first (mimics anaphylaxis- very scary) but it was quickly identified and treated, then had a second infusion and they gave me prophylactic steroids to avoid it happening again (which worked).

But they worked and reduced my symptoms within a couple of weeks and I would happily have one again.

As above, very non event but felt amazing a few weeks later.

I have had two recently - literally hooked me up via cannular and then whilst I read my kindle transfusion happened - first one was about 1hr, second 45/50 mins - no side effects, drove back to work and was ok

Mine went fine yesterday, I didn't have any side effects
I'm glad I've had it done I've been struggling

I had one 14 days ago. Felt rough for a few days after. I don’t feel as breathless when climbing stairs etc but I’m not bouncing off the walls and feeling full of the joys of spring either but then again I am very low, my ferritin was only 3 before my infusion.
