White blood cells in urine?!

Ok I’m worrying slightly…

I’m no doctor so haven’t a clue what this means and Google isn’t helping. I’ve had excruciating pain/aching in my lower left and side of my back for over a week. No appetite and feeling sick. All tests have come back clear, bloods, cervix swabs… but my urine came back with white blood cells. No bacteria found though. Dr is going to send it off to the lab to be tested thoroughly.

I have no other UTI symptoms atall, no burning or frequent urination etc. She said it can’t be kidney stones because I would have blood in urine, and it doesn’t sound like a UTI.

So I’m wandering… what else could be the cause for white cells?!? Anyone experience similar? Hmm

It can just be a sign of contamination, although that doesn’t explain your pain.

White blood cells in the urine may indicate inflammation of the kidneys or urinary tract due to bacterial infection. It is important to note, however, that contamination of the urine can also cause the presence of white blood cells in the urine

I hope you find the answers/treatment soon.

It don't know what it could mean but white blood cells don't always mean there's an infection. I was under a consultant a few months ago due to having recurrent UTIs during pregnancy. One of my last appointments with her it showed leukocytes in my urine, she made a big deal of saying it doesn't mean infection etc which I raised my eyebrows at as by this point I'd had a UTI for 6 weeks. My sample was sent to the lab and it was my first one that came back clear.
