Laryngitis totally lost voice - how long is it likely to last

I have totally lost my voice today. Can't even whisper. NHS website suggests this could last 1-2 weeks. Please someone tell me that is worse case scenario. If this happened to you, how long did it last? The rest of the family t(w)eens think it is very funny and I'm getting frustrated.

I've had laryngitis numerous times - all colds seem to go directly to my throat Hmm I've completely lost my voice a couple of times and it always returned fairly quickly - within a day or two! Hope you feel better soon Thanks

I’m very prone to this too. I’m usually totally silent for a couple of days then in and out for another couple after that.

Phew - I can cope with a day or two! Just won't be able to talk in any teams meetings tomorrow...shame. Thanks so much for replying!

I lost mine for a just over week but continued with the other symptoms for weeks after. Hope your feeling better soon
