Could this be the start of chicken pox?

Noticed these spots this evening, they have a red mark around the spots. DS seems to be okay, no temperature, he’s his happy self, eating and drinking fine. Could it be chicken pox? Or something else?

Looks like it to me but if concerned see a pharmacist

Awrite · 19/02/2022 08:33

Was he unwell 2 weeks ago?

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 19/02/2022 08:35

Could well be. CP normally starts on the torso.

@PolkaSpace I didn’t realise pharmacist could have a look, will take him tomorrow.
@Awrite he did have a bit of a cold/cough he was ill for about 4 days.
@IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads I will call GP on Monday to confirm.

Thank you for your replies. So far no new spots has appeared but still looks the same. Still not bothering him.

If you think it's chickenpox then don't take him to a pharmacist as it's contagious. If the spots turn into fluid filled blisters then it could be CP.

Chicken pox literally appeared before my eyes when I put my dc in the bath. It brings the rash out. I learned this with first dc and others followed.

My 2yo had a few spots on Friday and now he is absolutely covered
I think by now it would be obvious if it was cp

When ds had CP he had 3 lone spots for 5 days. On the night of the fifth day going into the 6th they appeared as I looked at him, and within an hour he was covered.
