right i wasnt sure where to put this, but i think this thread is the most appropriate.
We have recently had a couple of scared with beetroot, first off my ds (8) went the toilet for a poo and started shouting me manically, the toilet looked like something from jaws, after a few minutes of sever panicking it emerged he has eaten beetroot at school, secondly my dad phoned me in a right old flap because he was weeing blood, again turned out he had eaten beetroot, the thing is, what if someone with heart problems or similar was unaware of the effects of beetroot this could cause catastophies, i really think there should be some sort of a warning on the jars, whgat do u think? am i being silly? or should i contact some manufacterors?

LOL - my ds had black poo after eating beetroot. It's a pretty well known side effect

Where would you put the warnings on the fresh ones, loopylou6? Would they have to be genetically engineered on to the leaves?

loopylou6 · 02/01/2008 15:35

HG have since found out that it more the pickled variety in jars, i also posted this thread on the AIBU thread and got quite a backlash , so just ignore this thread now

, My, ahem, motions were very red once, it scared the living daylights out of me, until I remember eating a considerable amount of beetroot the day before

Agree there should a warning on the jars

Hallgerda · 02/01/2008 20:54

The fresh stuff does it too, if you eat enough of it (and I do, frequently).

Do remember that AIBU is a Question Expecting The Answer Yes...
