Hives and swelling - stress related?

On Sunday night I broke out in hives, all over my arms, back and legs. Never had anything like that before, took an antihistamine and it calmed down.

Yesterday my hands were a bit red and last night they were itchy. This morning all my fingers are swollen and my hands almost feel sunburnt. I had to prise my rings off when they normally slip off easily and even the warm water in the shower stung.

I didn't eat anything out of the ordinary or do anything different on Sunday. I have been under a lot of stress at the moment and things came to a head on Sunday with me having what I think was a panic attack. I'm wondering if stress could have triggered this.

Has anyone else had this before?

My sister experienced a similar thing - it was called Spontaneous Urticaria, and she thinks it was linked to the stress of planning her wedding. She had various treatments for it, but it eventually went away on its own.

Thanks, will hopefully be able to speak to a doctor tomorrow.
