Don't think it is just for breast cancer, think it's any kind of cancer isn't it? I remember my sister doing it and she dedicated it to my dad, who died of lung cancer.

perpetualworrier · 01/01/2008 18:50

I had this problem last year - there were several acquaintances I could have put down, but it somehow didn't seem quite right when others had names whose illness had clearly devastated them, so in the end I left it blank and ran for the future.

A great experience and I'm still running now almost a year after I started. Have joined a running club and everything, so definitely go for it.

MummyDoItUnderTheMistletoe · 01/01/2008 18:50

It's for any kind of cancer and you don't have to dedicate it to anyone in particular. You get a sign for your back and you can write your own message on it which can be a personal one for someone you know or you could put something very general, for all cancer sufferers. If you want to dedicate it to anyone on here, you can borrow my DH . Do sign up, though. I did it for the first time last year and it's an amazing experience. I'll definitely be doing it again this year.

anorak · 01/01/2008 19:00

Kimi · 01/01/2008 19:02

I will run for you, Sarah and in memory of Jackie and Roger.

anorak · 01/01/2008 19:04

kimi, you DO have to do it

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 01/01/2008 19:05

Misdee - you'll have to wear this. on Anoraks' behalf.

Blandmum · 01/01/2008 19:07

You can run it for DH if you don't mind it being pancreatic cancer

TheDuchessOfNorksBride · 01/01/2008 19:07

I bet it's really 'snug' for a 5k run.

anorak · 01/01/2008 19:08

oh Duchess, I thought you were going to link to a pair of false norks a la blackadder

FairyTaleOfNewYork · 01/01/2008 19:10

email me as well MB

because its a womens only event i think of breast cancer first.

i'm sure the back sign is big enough for many names
