baby toothpaste and brush it

brush yours in front of him .. let him hold it and put it in his mouth .. take over after a little

doesn't matter if he swallows it

it's to get him used to it

just a tiny bit of toothpaste
it woun't harm them to swallow a bit - after all they wouldn't be allowed to put anything dangerous in toothpaste
at that age it's just to get them used to the feel of the toothbrush in their mouths and start lifelong habits of routinely cleaning teeth

Sorry if this is out of turn but you have posted a number of anxious threads today. Are you ok? Do you think you might need to speak to your health visitor?

Introduce the toothbrush at bathtime and only use a smidge of toothpaste.

Rather than going straight for the kill and shoving it in your lo's mouth, pretend to use it yourself and let them explore and play with it.

They put most things in their mouths anyway, so it's good way to start.
