am I anxious or getting ready for a heart attack ?

my father died of isheameic heart disease aged 64, with his first heart attack in his 40's.

I had a viral infection in September, which some of the symptoms were pain between my shoulder blades, that came through into the front of my chest.

I also was having/am having flutterings in my chest.

I've had my cholosterol checked and my blood, my results were all o.k. and my blood was really healthy according to the nurse.

my doctor thought it could be excess acid in my stomach and gave me some tablets at the end of october, it's not been as bad since then but it's still there.

so now I feel sick after I've eaten most times, but it does go away after about 2 hours.

I occassionally get heart burn, once or twice a week.

and on a daily basis I get flutterings in my chest, which last no more than a breath - anything from once a day to 5 or 6 times a day.

I do feel quite anxious and am very worried about it, I've got an appointment to see the doctor later this week.

I don't smoke, never have, and plan after I've seen the doctor to start some regular exercise, I'm about 2 stone overweight.

so, with the exception of my dad, my risk factors don't seem too bad, so could these flutterings just be anxiety ?

please reassure me

thank you belgian, you have no idea how much that means

i'm trying to be very reasonable and not think about it, have discussed with DH and told him how I feel, times when I feel like just crying for no reason at all

find that after a glass of wine I relax a little and they don't come then at all, but don't want to go down that route !

just want it to go away and feel happy, relaxed and not concious of it at all

yes, and it was normal, lovely GP said she seriously doesn't think it's my heart, but if I get any pain lasting more than a couple of minutes 999 - that's never happened

also said to me to stop thinking abou it as it'd make me worse

she also said that if the flutterings didn't go away after the tummy talbets she'd like to do some more investigations in view of my family history

she asked me if I had a stressful job and I've told her I do, full time as well as mum to 2 DC's

suprisingly as I was preparing for Chirstmas and had other things on my mind I forgot about them and realised after a couple of days that I hadn't had any then they came back !

I don't swim, not very good at it.

seeing my GP on Friday, I used to exercise 3 times a week, and have been stressed in the past so am recognising the signs, but the flutterings are new to me

which is why I want to start exercising again, but want to check this with my GP just in case

I feel like I'm about to sit an exam, and I can feel my breath raw in my chest, and want to burst into tears

very short with DH and the DS's and snapping at them

it is stress isn't it ?
