Will a specialist drain a benign cyst in breast?

I went for a breast check up this week as I had felt some new lumps. I was last checked a couple of years ago and told I had some harmless cysts

A mammogram and breast ultrasound have shown more cysts. Harmless which is reassuring and a load off so I’m glad and I appreciate I’m very lucky.

But, and I know this is going to sound really vain - they are large enough in my left breast to make it noticeably larger than my right breast.

There is one that is 4cm, another 3cm, another 2cm plus a load of little ones

I asked my doctor whether it was possible to drain the big ones and ‘even things out’. But she said it wasn’t worth a referral as no specialist would even entertain the question. Risk of infection etc

And I should just wait 5 years or so as when I produce less estrogen they could clear up. I’m 48 years old.

I can wait for sure but I was interested to find out if this is something that is possible or if I should just suck it up and be grateful that my lumpy breasts aren’t something to worry about

I’ve had cysts drained twice. First time I felt a lump and was referred. Doctor drained it using ultra sound. Second time I was called back after a mammogram. Absolutely petrified. They repeated mammogram and the did an ultra sound scan to confirm it was a cyst. Once again the doc drained it there and then. I am a good number of years older than you.

Mine were drained on the spot when I had the ultrasound which found them.
