Is 60mg of Lansoprazole a high dose?

Having been diagnosed with reflux last March the GP put me on 30mg of Lansoprazole x 2 a day.

Over Christmas I noticed that another family member who takes it has been prescribed 15mg a day.

We are the same age.

I have read that these meds can affect bone density, which is of concern as I am post menopausal.

Should I double check this with my GP?

I had a high dose initially to get reflux under control then dropped a dose.Or if you are taking another medication along side lansoprazole may affect the dose so I would check with gp if you can drop your dosage

Not taking any other meds, and tbh I have found taking the second dose tricky with timing as I keep forgetting 20 mins before dinner.
