what the hells wrong with my throat? please help

feel like i have swallowed a golf ball. just below where the adams apple would be feels like something is stuck. started earlier today and it's horrible feels like i'm being choked at times.

i have had a rotten taste in my throat on and off for a few weeks and occasionally it's felt sore.

last night i was a bit snotty and coughing , a dry tickly cough that i must have got off ds1 but this lump in throat feeling is panicking me.

i can swallow with no soreness but i can feel something there all the time. if i put my head back i gag.

please help

Could be a throat infection. Try not to panic. You could ring NHS Direct until you can get to the doctor's.

If it's not an infection it could be anxiety

scared to go to sleep in case a choke (probably ridiculous) but it's making me feel sick

Ive also got that...feels like something is stuck in the back of my throat when I swallow...looked in the mirror and my tonsils are all swollen so I think its that I can feel. Went to the docs today as my ear is also really sore in the hope of getting some antibiotics...but no joy! They don't hand them out as much now, not even for ear infections my doctor said! Its definitely a virus though...so I would go to your GP if I were you, you might have more luck!

Acid reflux can give you those symptoms, cheery. Just a guess

I work in an xray dept and a bloke once came to a+e saying he'd swallowed a golf ball. The x-ray showed it to be in the rectum and quite obviously hadn't travelled through the mouth/throat/stomach/bowel to get there!!!

you might have something there jalopy. thinking about it, xmas morning i bent down and got sick rise up into my throat totally unexpected. tasted vile obviously and the next day my throat felt odd

my mum always called that a sicky burp when i was a kid so i thought nothing of it!!

I've had this for the last few months and was getting very panicky about it,..despite the fact my Dr told me it was anxiety combined with acid reflux and was being made worse by acid suppresents (sp?). However since I finished work for the hols have not experienced it at all...try and relax it definitely helps

my voice has now gone all croaky and odd sounding...nice!

i have this quite often CF, if u have a cold its probs an irritated vocal chord, for me it gets worse after coughing, also when i tilt my head back it tickles and makes me cough
